MAKE Magazine 3D Printer Shootout 2015
We have exciting news to share!
As you may know, each year MAKE Magazine publishes what is considered being THE reference publication in the domain of 3D printing: a special issue of MAKE Magazine with a very thorough and detailed 3D printer buyer’s guide.Each of the previous two special issues for 2013 and 2014 boasted not only a large selection of the latest printer models, but also the newest developments in 3D printing, DIY instructions, articles on the hottest tech, accessories and paraphernalia on the market as well as a lot of information on developments to come.
The most interesting part of those special issues has however always been the 3D printing buyers guide, in which a large selection of the latest 3D printers is being analyzed, put thoroughly through their paces and rated according to a preset test protocol by a team of experts. And for this year’s 3D printing test event organized by MAKE Magazine (called the 3D printer shootout) we are happy (and a bit proud) to announce to have been selected to be part of the team, as the two only European experts.
So we flew to the US and have spent the last 4 days in Youngstown, Ohio, where we have been testing a selection of the latest 3D printers for the winter issue of MAKE Magazine. For the first time, the testing did not take place on the premises of MAKE Magazine, but offsite on the premises of America Makes, formerly “the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute”, a great location which was perfectly suited for the testing.
If you would like to have an exclusive glimpse on the printers tested, the testing facilities at America Makes and the test team, just check out our selected photos below. Don’t expect however to get any pre-publication results on how the different machines scored; for that, you will have to wait for MAKE Magazine issue number 42, to be published on November 25th.
